Mrs. Sarah’s Ballet is a 501(c)(3) recreational dance studio with a mission to make ballet and dance classes both affordable and accessible to Smyth and surrounding counties. MSB is passionate about proper technique training, French terminology, and performance etiquette. You can expect the perfect blend of fun and technique in each class. Each class is formatted for the age and/or skill level of the class. Ballet classes are progressive, so students will prepare for prepointe work then eventually pointe shoes if they choose to put in the work.

Mrs. Sarah's Ballet now offers both art and STEM programs as well! Click the Art Zone and STEM Lab tab for the upcoming events.

Overall, this nonprofit organization strives to bring enrichment type classes and events to the community. These classes and events are offered at reasonable, discounted, and FREE prices. We believe that access to a variety of extracurriculars is crucial to the well-rounded development of children.
Competition Team: UP Dance Co. is the studio's competition team. Our first ever team starts this Fall! We cannot wait to see them shine.
Dance Classes: Parents may sit in on classes or drop off. Drop off is only for children who can be totally independent without a parent. Parents who sit in on class are asked to be as quiet as possible so the students can hear the teacher. Parents may hear and see repetition of new skills especially in the younger ages. Repetition builds muscle memory and that is how a dancer can master one skill in order to move to the next connected skill.
Dance Season Length: The season runs from August 2025 - April 2026. August through Nov will focus on technique while Dec-April focuses on recital choreography! Classes will break from December 15th-Janaury 4th and only 50% tuition is due in Dec.
Performances: All classes perform in October at Marion's Chili Cook-off event and the Spring Recital in April. It's possible for other performances to be added.
Attendance: There’s no attendance policy for recreational dance classes. However, coming each week is highly encouraged! Students with regular attendance will get the most out of the class, feel confident in their routines, PLUS parents will get the most bang for your buck! Sickness and other things happen, so if a student misses more than two classes in one month, please speak to Mrs. Sarah about the possibility to take a make-up class.
Snow days/Other Holidays: Snow days and holidays will be handled on a case-by-case basis. There will always be make up classes for missed days. Notifications will be sent through mass texts and posted to the Facebook group "Mrs Sarah's Ballet Group for Currently Enrolled Students".

How to Quit: It's certainly understandable that some students will need to stop dance class before the season's end. Let Mrs Sarah know directly at least ten days before month's end when you need to unenroll your child. This allows you to be removed from auto-pay and for a child on the waitlist to be notified that they can begin class
